Rainy Day

Whenever it rains I become
A dreamer, dreaming of times past.
Times without the usual hum-drum,
Times I wish would forever last.

A place with gentle music rain
And soothing whistles from the breeze.
Where I can dance without disdain
In a world where no one sees.

And elves and fairies prance about,
Holding my hand, as we fly around.
Where no one frowns and no one pouts,
Only laughter and happy sounds.

But soon the music fades away
As the rain begins to slow its beat.
I'm forced to return against my say,
Back to reality, where I don't fit.

Yet everytime it starts to rain
I find myself in dreamland once again.

The Gift

Hope, wrapped with promises,
Given to keep.
Despair, hidden in between,
Waiting to leap.

Promises unwrapped with joy
Not realising it's a decoy
Despair pounces with glee
Not giving chances to flee

Caught unguarded, hit with force,
Hope is shattered, lost.
Reality unforgiving, harsh with life,
Despair is anchored, found.

Mystery Gal

Looking but not seeing,
Hearing but not listening.
Knowing without knowing,
Feeling without feeling.

Her voice, her face, her body,
Apparent when yet so hidden.
Her heart, her mind, her soul,
Tranparent when yet so opaque.

Touched by hands unreaching,
Moved by words unspeaking.
Stirred by grace unseen,
Roused by knowledge unbidden.

Fired despite the coldness,
Passion burning on empty fuel.
Close despite the distance,
Hope chasing an elusive goal.

Breezing through the Elysium Fields and down the River of Lethe. Stop by at Styx, flirt with Erebus, and tease the Old Man Charon. Give Cerberus a scratch, play some three-headed catch, and away to see the king. Silent as ever, that's Hades my friend, and fair Persephone beside. Paying my respects, a swift bow, and off again to wander. A quick pass at the judges, and Tartarus to taunt the dead. Tired at last, back to Elysium, and a toast with heroes of long past.
