Desperately, I prayed for salvation
Some help to mend my damaged protection
Lo and behold, she came to my rescue
While preventing much embarassment due
Stitch by stitch, the angel did patiently
Never knew heaven could be so homely
Stealing glances while feigning ignorance
Sitting quietly is quite a penance
Curiously, she drinks not sweet drinks offered
Instead, giving to those not intended
Perhaps, angels are already too sweet
No need to further enchant those they meet
Finally the miracle is complete
Pure gratitude is all I can concede
Shyly, I pack away my restored pride
Buttons sewed back, clothes I no longer hide

Moment
Music played soothingly in the background
As couples swayed gently to the sound
I weaved my wat through the crowd, seeking
The lady who had seemed so enchanting
My eyes ever darting
Anxiety building
A rose given to reflect her beauty
The price to pay for, never too hefty
A dance taken, against all odds
Little, but still, I thank the gods
My heart ever beating
Excitement mounting
Soft, velvety blue, shadows in my heart
Hesitantly, I don't know where to start
Lost in reverie, all else forgotten
Swept away by dreams still forbidden
My body ever floating
Bliss overwhelming
Music fades gradually in the background
Time to let go of joy I have found
A moment of magic for my keeping
A bittersweet aftertaste, heartrending
My mind ever holding
Memories unwilling

Goodbye
Goodbye. Farewell.
Take care. See you.
Remember me. Write back.
All the best. Bon Voyage!
I've said them thousands of times
And I'm sick of it.
Parties. Celebrations.
Gifts. Cards.
Hugs. Kisses.
Tears. Promises.
I've seen them thousands of times
And I'm sick of it.
You know, I know.
Empty words.
False promises.
Pointless formalities.
Meaningless.
You're numb, I'm numb.
But still,
Take a part of me
I'll keep a part of you.
And like always
We'll say
Goodbye.

Breezing through the Elysium Fields and down the River of Lethe. Stop by at Styx, flirt with Erebus, and tease the Old Man Charon. Give Cerberus a scratch, play some three-headed catch, and away to see the king. Silent as ever, that's Hades my friend, and fair Persephone beside. Paying my respects, a swift bow, and off again to wander. A quick pass at the judges, and Tartarus to taunt the dead. Tired at last, back to Elysium, and a toast with heroes of long past.
