Take A Look Around

Take a look around you
Do you like what you see?
Pollution is all around us
The world is dying slowly

Oil spills, toxic waste
Destroying life at sea
Careless people, heart less men
All murderers unknowingly

Exhaust pipes, factory smoke
Trapping too much heat
Ignorant people, cold men
Too busy shuffling their feet

Mining, Deforestation
Fertile ground now wastelands
Greedy people, thoughtless men
Holding the world in their hands

Did you ever notice
The ocean turning black?
Or the poisoned fishes
That we sometimes buy back?

Did you ever realise
It's getting harder to respire?
Or the increased radiation
That's causing skin cancer?

Did you ever observe
Homeless animals wandering aimlessly?
Or unknown plants destroyed
That might someday cure the sickly?

When will we start to care
To stop being so selfish
And take an active stand
Before the world is finished?

When will we become aware
Of the power we hold
To help save the world
In the future we mould?

Let us start now
Before it's too late
Let us work together
In changing the world's fate

Game of Love

Look at those two
Such a nice couple
Yet they are apart
Relationship s crumble

He says 'I should leave her
We still need to study'
But deep down he knows
He still loves her dearly

She thinks she's done with him
That she's going to move on
Then why does her heart ache
When she remembers he's gone

He says 'It's all over
We can't be together'
And yet he misses her
They still call each other

She thinks he's no good for her
That she'll find another
But tears start to fall
When she imagines their time together

So which will it be
To be lovers or not
They just can't decide
Not knowing what they've got

When will they start to realise
The love they hold within
When will they stop the pain
And get back while they're keen

We are just but watchers
In this game called love
It's all up to the players
To get the prizes they deserve

Dear Diary

Today I saw him again
And my heart jumped for joy
I couldn't stop chattering excitedly
Oh, I think I like that boy

Look at him, so cool and suave
Yet soft and gentle, full of grace
And when I look into his eyes
I'm sure my heart increased its pace

But should I go on or hold back
I just can't seem to decide
Since you know me the best
Please help me choose the right side

Some say he's a bad boy
That he'll break my heart
But that's just his style
And that sets him apart

Some say we're compatible
That I should go for him
But I'm so afraid and unsure
What happens if our love dims?

I want to be with him
There's so much to gain
But what if it doesn't work out
There's going to be much pain

And yet if I let him go
I fell that I'll never know
The warmth of his embrace
To walk with him in tow

Sigh, I'm so confused by this
To follow my heart or head
I don't think I can decide yet
Guess I'll just have to wait

Listen

Listen
The birds are chirping
Making merry tunes
The dogs are barking
Full of love and joy

Listen
The radio's blasting
But no one's hearing
The tele's blaring
But no one's watching

Listen
I want to say something
Do you hear me?
Please stop shouting
I can hear you

Listen
Why can't you?
Always telling me this that
Shut up won't you?
I wanna speak too

Listen
To what Dad says
He gets mad sometimes
But that's his way
He's just afraid

Listen
To what Mom says
She's got a point there
Hold your temper at bay
Give her a chance

Listen
To what I have to say
Stop arguing, stop quarelling
But make peace I pray
Stop hurting each other

Listen
And all will be fine
Understand, tolerate
Just keep in line
Slowly works things out

Listen
Before it's too late
And anger is all around
Before love becomes hate
And tears start to fall

Listen
I beg you, just awhile
Say sorry, make amends
Don't let troubles pile
Forgive and forget each other

Listen
And please remember
I will always be here
A hopeful watcher
Waiting for a change

Listen
Hush now, be still
Treasure this sacred moment
And don't speak until
Someone's ready to listen

Crash Of Rhinos

Boom boom boom boom
The ground is shaking
Boom boom boom boom
Rhinos approaching

Thump thump thump thump
Your heart is beating
Thump thump thump thump
His steps are nearing

Your knees are trembling
When he starts smiling
You go a floating
As he is waving

Boom boom boom boom
Rhinos stampeding
Boom boom boom boom
Rhinos arriving

A loud bang is heard
As the rhinos converge
Then all is silent
As two hearts are merged

In his warm embrace
You feel quite dazed
The rhinos have crashed
Under our very gaze

Boom boom boom boom
Rhinos a quietening
Boom boom boom boom
Rhinos a leaving

Then he passes by
Without a word of hi
You snap back to reality
Looks like it's just a fantasy

Thump thump thump thump
Your heart slows it's beating
Thump thump thump thump
As his shadow is disappearing

Boom boom boom boom
The sound a softening
Boom boom boom boom
Rhinos dispersing

Breezing through the Elysium Fields and down the River of Lethe. Stop by at Styx, flirt with Erebus, and tease the Old Man Charon. Give Cerberus a scratch, play some three-headed catch, and away to see the king. Silent as ever, that's Hades my friend, and fair Persephone beside. Paying my respects, a swift bow, and off again to wander. A quick pass at the judges, and Tartarus to taunt the dead. Tired at last, back to Elysium, and a toast with heroes of long past.
